I remember Billy Aiken and his dog Skippy back in freshman year . If memory serves, a bunch of OPers were Sea Scouts lead by Billy's Dad, who we called Skipper, and we had an Admiral's dinghy (really a 35 foot small cruiser ) that we kept near Riverview park on the Chicago River and took out on to Lake Michigan regularly. And Billy and his Dad ( and Skippy the dog) were always good natured, generous and companionable. Excellent memories and good times with a good guy!
As our ranks grow thinner with each passing year, it is important that we honor those classmates of ours who have gone before us and show proper recognition and respect to those who remain.
I was so very sad to hear of Bill's passing. What a nice guy! My condolences to his family. Each year that we have reunions are so much more special to all of us.
