I received this from Chuck this morning...
Sad to report in learning today that Jim Greenup of Palm Coast Fl. was killed December 1, 2017 in an auto accident. Apparently, according to police reports, he ran off the road and hit some trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Florida highway patrol. I have no other details, but Jim had a serious heart condition. See attachment
I have searched for other details: an obituary, next of kin or funeral announcement but without success. Jim's wife Dee Ramey passed away a year or two ago. We only re-connected a few years ago after I had moved to Florida. Jim, as did I, graduated from DePauw University in 1963.

I am so very sorry to hear about Jim's passing. Although I only attended OPRFHS the second semester of our senior year, I remember Jim well. He was a true leader and a very friendly person. I don't even remember what class we shared, but he went out of his way to make me, a newcomer, feel welcome. I am also sorry to hear that his wife passed away earlier. RIP, Jim. I know you will be sorely missed.

Hello,..
I did't know Jim well in H.S. But our paths did cross in Junior High. We both were in the orchestra, he played clarinet. In High School we walked separate paths.
However, we did exchange emails beginning about 10 years ago, sharing with each other on our respective health issues. I don't recall how that exchange got started, perhaps musing about old days in the orchestra.
Anyway, I was touched to read about his passing. Our mortality, each and every one's, is weighing heavily on my mind these days.
I hope Jim didn't suffer and I wish him G-D speed.
