Karen Hedstrom (Schmidt)

Hello friends of Karen, This is Mary Beth, Karen's sister. Some of you know but some of you may not know that Karen passed away last Friday, March 11th at St. Joseph's Hospital-North. She had contracted a severe virus and died from pneumonia related issues. It was a devasting shock to us. Her family is having a "Celebration of Life" to honor her at the Lake Padgett East Clubhouse on March 22nd at 7:00pm. The address is 4533 Savanah Way, Land O Lakes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HPH Hospice Corp. 12470 Telecom Dr. Ste. 300W, Temple Terrace, FL 33637, memo line Karen Schmidt. There will be refreshments served afterward. Thank you

Hi Mary Beth,

I've written a letter to you and Karen's family and send it in a card to the address I have for Karen on Parkway Blvd in Land O' Lakes, FL.  I trust that you have access to this website and can receive this message.

Karen and I were close in high school and more so in the last 10 years. What I've said in the letter is not something that I wish to share on this website because I consider it too personal.

I mourn with you,

Suzanne Duffy-Kane

I am shocked and so very sad to hear of Karen's passing.  We kept in contact by email, but have not corresponded for a while--which I'm also sad about.  I have many fond memories of Karen.  My sincere condolences to her family.  Rest in peace, dear Karen.

I'm also very sorry to hear of Karen's passing.  I considered her a good friend, in fact we went steady our entire Freshman year.  We had fun kidding each other about that at our many reunions over the years.  You will be missed, Karen.

I am feeling your sorrow as I do with every one of our class who passes away. We were a great class and loaded with memories most of them very good or great. I knew Karen although not that well but my sincere condolences to all of her family and friends.
