Charles A. Jarvis

Gary, along with John Nalbach, Miles Ermis and I were in the clarinet section of the concert band and were a quartet that played to civic groups during our senior year  Gary was the most talented of us. It may have been hereditary, since his mother was my teacher in my early years in OP  We lost contact thereafter until a few years ago. By then he had retired and had moved to Texas . Gary was a quiet guy until he played the clarinet. He was a great improviser and made the instrument sing like none other I knew.  He leaves this world, but will be remembered by more than his immediate family.   Chuck Jarvis
