Debbie was one of the gals I ran aroun with while at OPRFHS and a close friend while we were in HIgh School. I always found her to be a very sweet and sensitive person. She had family issues because of the death of her mother when Debbie was in 8th grade. Her mother died of a cancer of some kind. Her adult life was, as I understand it, less than wonderful and she dealt with and overcame her challenges.
Dear Debbie,

Deb died at 4:45am at the Comfort Hospice House in Pella Iowa surrounded by her children. She was very involved with the community and provided a lot of volunteer service. She loved to write and her sense of goodness was always an inspiration for me. She said she would make it till Christmas and she did! She willl be missed.
Debbie has been my dear friend since high school. We have kept in touch over the years and met in Chicago about every 5 years. I had to cancel my trip in 2016 because of my hip replacement surgery. Little did I know I would not see Deb again. However, we kept in contact especially after her cancer diagnosis. She had great faith and met the challenge head on. Deb was a very caring and generous person. She will be missed. Rest in peace, dear Debbie.
