I'm so sorry to hear that Jerry has passed away.

I remember him from our class at Horace Mann and our neighborhood (he lived a couple of blacks away). He was one of our group that used to walk home from school down Division. He'd peel off first, and the rest of us would continue on home.

Jerry always seemed so happy to me. He loved to joke around with everyone, and he had a great smile (look at our 8th grade picture, and you'll see him smiling in the back row) . Another old friend lost...

Jerry Nagel was one of those all around good guys. We were managers of the Varsity Baseball team and had a few classes together during our times at DOOP.   I rememebr him as having a great sense of humor and being a fun person to be with regardless of the circumstance. He seemed to always find the lighter and the brighter side to high school life.  The world cannot afford to lose many more like this guy. Rest in peace Jerry.

Sorry to read about Jerry's passing. We were best of friends at Horace Mann and continued that relationship in high school. I lived next door to jerry and his family for many years. I sure will miss him, truley a great person to know.

Jerry was one of my best friends kindergarten on. We didn't get together alot as adults but each time it was like no time had passed. A good man. I'll miss him.

So sorry to hear about Jerry. We raised tropical fish together, spent time at each other's homes and very much enjoyed times together at Horace Mann. When trying to get back to the 50th and 55th reunion (which circumstance did not permit me to make), I had hoped to see Jerry as well as others from those days. Even though it has been many years since I left Oak Park, I still have the vivid and fond memories of Jerry and other friends like Joe and Bill who have submitted comments.
