band and orchestra membes Posted Sunday, July 19, 2009 05:07 PM I'm not very computer literate, so forgive me if I mess up.
Did any of you go into music professionally? I got my BM in flute (BA in Spanish), MA in composition, and DMA in composition, continued playing flute, and became a reasomably competent classical guitarist. I have fond memories of DOOP, and hope that all of you have met some of your life goals.

RE: band and orchestra membes Posted Monday, October 5, 2009 09:54 AM I remember you. You and Susi Richardson played flute. Susi's parents shipped her off to Interlochen each summer for the entire summer. I have a feeling it was for her own safety. I still have my piano but not my cello. I wish I still had my cello but it was sold to someone my teacher recommended. I did not like my teacher and dreaded the lessons. My daughters started with Suzuki piano at 2 and 4. My youngest daughter begged for the violin when she was 5. At 7 she found her own teacher and rented a violin and came to me with the order form and said a lady would be out by 5 p.m. to sign the papers. With enthusiasm like that how could I resist. I made sure she related to and liked her teachers.....and there were 3 or 4. This was a good town for music enrichment. We have produced several really fine musicians in Carrie's age group. Nancy |
