A message from Ann McMillan Murrah to my fellow classmates:
*** Let’s accomplish something big together!!***
Responding to the joy we felt in gathering together last month – in person and/or in our e-community - and remembering our classmates listed on the “In Memory” page, let’s build the Class of 1959 Scholarship Endowment. I have sent a check for $500 to start the fund toward the endowment minimum of $21,000. Please join me! Give big ($5900?) or not so big ($59?). But please give. This will be a great way to express your gratitude at this Thanksgiving season, for friends and faculty and fine experiences at DOOP.
You can go online to make your contribution: oprfhs.org, then Alumni/Development, then click on the link to the Scholarship Foundation. Be sure to indicate that the Scholarship Name is Class of 1959.
Or you may send your contribution to
OPRFHS Scholarship Foundation
Attention: Business Office
201 N. Scoville Avenue
Oak Park, IL 60302
Again, be sure to indicate your check is for the Class of 1959 scholarship.
When we reach our goal, a scholarship in the name of our class will be awarded each year. You can find more information about the Scholarship Foundation on the high school web site or in the papers you brought home from the reunion. Email me with any questions at kmurrah@cfl.rr.com.

Roland Quentin (Buck) Roberts died early yesterday morning 9/19/2017 from cancer. He managed good humor and an active life style during these last three plus years while dealing with various, some harsh, chemo and medical protocols. He ran a successful insurance and was a long time resident of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He leaves his wife Marianne and two married sons, Robbie(Mary Beth) and Craig Bonnie) and two granddaughters. Buck was much beloved by many of our classmates. Pray for Buck and pray for his family. Today I received an email that Bob Stenson had passed away on March 28 after a long illness. Bob attended OPRF for two years between Fenwick and graduating from Loyola Academy. Bob, Paul Kerrigan, and Brian Christian came from St.Giles. He remarked that he had attended some many schools that he could never find the time to attend any reunions.
Bob was a Chicago policeman who retired to Florida some years ago.
Most of his family lived nearby his Melbourne area home.

Dick & I wrote a song about his experience at Rush University Medical Center. Rush has used us in their commercials on All Chicago local TV channels and 11 over 40, radio stations (like WBBM, US99, WFMT, WGN, WMAQ, WIND & more) They will run the rest of the year. You can view our stories by logging on to RUSHSTORIES.ORG and clicking on our picture. The stories incorporate the 30 second tv commercial. Our whole song is on, YOU TUBE and can be found by clicking on YOU TUBE & entering, RUSH ANGELS DICK HAUGHEY to find the site. (or GOOGLE it). Hope you visit us there. They took a 12' tall picture of us and will display it in the new "Butterfly shaped wing" when finished. We hope our story helps others find the great care if needed in their lives. Love you guys, Carol
