School Story:
I only attended OPRF my senior year. I was a Navy brat and as so went to many different schools in 12 years. I was there after my father retired from the Navy and we moved to Oak Park as he was hired by the Elmwood Park High School, he was a teacher before joining the Navy. I felt out of place most of the time as a senior, as there were so many cliques, so I don't have many school memories. I guess I could talk about Miss Shafer...throughout all the high schools that I attended, Danville High School, Danville, IL; King High School in Sasebo, Japan and Woodland High School, Streator, IL, I never required a world history class, well, to get my credits at OPRF I needed that, so as a senior I was put in the normally sophomore class with her. She picked on me, expected me to know everything about world history, it was a nightmare. My parents, both teachers BTW, intervened. I received the credit and was able to drop out of that awful class.
