Michael Louis Livingston, 69, died peacefully at home, June 13, 2010, in the arms of his beloved wife, Mary, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer and a spinal cord injury with complete paralysis. He was born April 8, 1941 in Oak Park, Illinois, son of Richard and Jane. He moved from Wisconsin to retire in Ellensburg in 1999 after working as a career counselor for the state of Wisconsin for 22 years. He loved his family passionately and was rarely seen without his wife, Mary at his side. He had an immeasurable gift of a warm, caring, and loving heart and a quick wit, telling jokes and making people laugh with his unique sense of humor that served him well to the end.
Michael had talents for bringing people together, committed to integrity and excellence by actively serving in the community, county, state, and country. He proudly served as a medic in the US Army from 1960-1963.
Survivors include his best friend and beloved wife, Mary, son Benjamin, daughter Michelle, sisters Ann and Gail (Bud), 5 grandchildren and 2 stepchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and brother John. Celebration of Michael's life will be held at Grace Episcopal church Friday, July 9th at 6 PM. Donations may be made to Hospice or charity of choice.
