We were as close as two kids could be from the age of 5 years old through much of our high school years. Rick was a true buddy and all around great guy to those who were fortunate enough to enter his small circle of friends. He graduated from Iowa State, married and raised a family in the Willow Springs area. He was employed most of his life by a small manufacturing company in the Chicagoland area where he became their CFO. He had a thing for cars as many of us guys did in those days. Except, he started collecting scale models of these made available each year by the various automobile manufacturers. His sister reports to me that he continued with this collection and had several hundred at his passing, July 2003.
