Carol was a good friend all through grade school at Horace Mann. We went through Brownies and Girl Scouts together, and I still have a picture of her licking the spoon after making cookies for one of our Girl Scout meetings at our house. She was a sweet and gentle person.

I am shocked and saddened to learn that Carol is no longer with us. She was raised in the home next door to me on North Marion Street, and we played together almost from the time we were born, literally, and way before Kindergarten, birthday paries and all. I even remember that Carol's birthday was Jan 26. Our families were friends, even after they moved to the big old house in River Forest, and I knew her three younger sisters as well. I had hoped to see her at some of the previous reunions, but she did not attend.

Carol, I will miss seeing you at the 50th!

Dear Susan, Larry, and Nana,
It's been three years and a week since Carol (Cookie) left us. She died of ovarian cancer. I really appreciate your comments. As her sister, eight years younger, I don't know much about her childhood. Carol was very bright, loving, and had a great sense of humor. We miss her very much.
