So sorry to hear of Gary's passing. I will remember him singing "O Holy Night at a Christmas function at Emerson School[in his beautiful tenor voice] Also,I had kind of a crush on him---hoped he would ask me to Prom[he didn't]---but he DID put nail polish on my toes fo r a dance. I will always remember Gary from grade school and as a very special person who worked very hard on getting our class reunions going for so many years. One very special person who is sorely missed.
Gary and I were good friends through church and school. He and Donna have been close through the years and they visited us in Kansas and we have been to their home in Oak Park several times. He was a great guy and I miss him and cherish my friendship with Donna!
I remember everyone thought Gary was the best looking boy in our eighth grade class at Emerson. I think everyone wanted him for her boyfriend. How fortunate Donna was to have the honor! Many, many thanks for all the years the two of you have put in for our reunions.
NO ONE ENJOYED A JOKE LIKE GARY! THO WE DIDN'T CROSS PATHS THAT MUCH IN HIGH SCHOOL WE SURE BECAME GOOD FRIENDS WORKING ON ALL THE DIFFERENT REUNIONS!!! HE WAS ONE OF THE SWEETEST, WELL ORGANIZED PEOPLE I KNOW....OUR REUNIONS HAVE NOT BEEN THE SAME WITHOUT HIM! GARY, YOU WILL BE REALLY MISSED OCT. 23 AND 24TH! I WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR SMILING FACE!!!!!
Gary was one great guy and really made so many of our reunions sooo special. He was very organized and had such great ideas and brought the best out of everyone that worked with him. I thank him and Donna for doing a great job and am glad Donna continues to keep the reunions going. I'm glad I got to be on the committee for awhile and got to know him. His big smile and nice hugs were always welcomed.
