We should consider ourselves fortunate that throughout life we get to know a handful of real good people, those who when you think about them places a faint smile on you face as you recall some good times of the past. Thus, it was with Bill. Rest in peace dear classmate. BH

No one could help but love Bill, from day one he was a winner. I wil never forget that smile and kind heart. My heart goes out to Elaine and the family...another loss that has hit me so hard.

When we were at OPRFHS, we were friendly competitors in football and track even though we were on the same teams. Bill never gave up on anything he started, at least that I can remember. Off campus, he was a gentleman and a good sport at poker - win or lose. Although we were not close, I always considered Bill a friend that I could count on if necessary.

I would start my walk to high school down Cyler Ave. and stop at bill's home so that we could walk together. We shared many days together and I got to meet his family. He was great company whether it rained was cold or hot. Also played in the Oak Park Mens basketball league against Bill ,,,he was a good sport and a great guy to know ....I got to meet his wife Elaine at the 50th reunion and we talked about our kids. Regrets to his brothers Pete and George ,, his wife Elaine and daughter Amy...

To be sure I have lost one of my best friends. From the first time we met as competitors at Hawthorne and Emerson we have always had a sincere bond.
For those who went to Hawthorne and played on a sports team they will understand the last comment Bill made to me, "Rog you did touch the net " a referance to the 8th grade championship volleyball game.
He was a part of my heart and will be sorley missed
